Berberis- Great for color accents. Thorns, but if you chose the right size, you won’t have to “meatball” them, so the thorns shouldn’t be a problem. Sun to part shade, adaptable, but won’t do wet soils. Deer resistant. This year, in our on-going effort to be true to our convictions, we will stop carrying most of the barberry varieties. Many disperse huge amounts of seeds which are polluting our forests with offspring. We will follow a chart that lists how many seeds each variety develops and offer only the very low to no seed varieties.
