This is compiled from several different sources, and is meant to be a guide to help in choosing plants the deer seem to pass in favor of others. Please be aware however, that deer may eat anything when they are hungry enough.....

ANNUALS:

Ageratum, Cosmos, Heliotrope, Marigold, Nasturtium, Petunia, Snapdragon, Sweet Alyssum, California Poppy, Dill, Annual Salvias, Scented Geraniums, Rosemary, Annual French Lavender

PERENNIALS:

Ajuga, Alchemilla, Achillea, Aconitum, Alyssum, Amsonia, Anemone, Anthemis, Arabis, Artemesia, Aster, Astilbe, Aubrietia, Baptisia, Campanula, Chelone, Chrysanthemum, Cimicifuga, Convallaria, Coreopsis (threadleaf types), Crocosmia, Delphinium, Dianthus, Dicentra, Digitalis, Echinacea, Epimedium, Euphorbia, Most Ferns, Gallardia, Gallium, Geranium, Helleborus, Iris, Kniphofia, Lamium/Lamiastrum, Lavandula, Liatris, Ligularia, Monarda,  Nepeta, Opuntia, Origanum, Paeonia, Papaver, Penstemon,  Pervoskia, Polemonium, Polygonum, Pulmonaria, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Scabiosa, Sedum, Stachys, Stokesia, Tanacetum, Teucrium, Thymus, Tiarella, Tradescantia, Verbena, Veronica

BULBS:

Alliums, Daffodils

GRASSES:

 Berberis, Buddleia, Buxus, Caryopteris, Cornus, Cotinus, Cotoneaster, Cytisus, Forsythia, Hypericum, Ilex, Juniperus, Kerria, Leucothoe, Lonicera, Mahonia,  Myrica, Nandina, Picea, Pieris, Potentilla, Ribes, Rosa rugosa, Spirea, Syringa ( except S. patula), Viburnum ( although they may eat flower buds), Vitex, Yucca  

TREES:

Acer palmatum, Aesculus, Catalpa, Cotinus, Ginkgo, Magnolia, Picea

VINES:

Clematis, Hedera 'Sulphur Heart' ( They will eat other Hedera) Lonicera 'Gold Flame'

Please let us know if you are having success with other plants not being eaten. We carry lots of "weird" plants here at Highland Gardens, and others may also be resistant that do not appear on this list....
