OENOTHERA (Evening primrose, Sundrop), zones 4-9, well-drained soil, full sun, blooms  June-July. berlanderi 'Siskyou', bright pink flowers all summer.

cespitosa (Gumbo Lily), Native.  Four white heart-shaped petals make 2 ½”- 4” flowers look like open parachutes.  Delightfully fragrant flowers open rapidly in late afternoon and stay open thru the night.  Flowers May-Aug.  Very drought tolerant.  Sun.

fremontii, ‘Lemon Silver’, low growing, spreading mats.  Large pale lemon flowers thru summer.

fruticosa, ‘Fireworks’, bronze foliage, deep red stems.  Bright yellow flowers in June.  15”.  Native.

macrocarpa,  ‘Comanche Campfire’, large, shiny leaves with ruby stems and large yellow flowers May-Aug.  12-15”x 18-24”.

 pilosela ‘Yella Fella’, large golden flowers open from bright orange buds.  Blooms all summer.  12-15”x 18-24”.

J x. ‘Cold Creek’, clump forming.  Bright yellow flowers in June.  10-12”.

 ORIGANUM  laevigatum, ‘Herrenhausen’, sub-shrub to 2’ with small aromatic leaves.  Profusion of small cerise-pink flowers and red-purple bracts.

vulgaris  Kent Beauty’, 9” elliptical bush bears numerous gray-green, oval leaves and is capped by the most unique pink flower bracts all summer.

x. ‘Amethyst Falls’, amethyst flowers from hops-like cones.  Textured glaucous leaves.  Spicy scent.  8-12” tall.

OTHONNA capensis(Little Pickles), blue-green cylindrical leaves with stems of bright yellow daisies above.  A 3-4” tall succulent for the sunny rock garden.
