Groundhog day

I don't care what Phil says, spring fever is in the air and getting closer by the second! I have hardy cyclamen blooming right next to my front door- they showed up over the weekend, and I spy flower buds on my hellebores!!! The birds seem a bit more chattery in the mornings as I am leaving for work. Be sure to stop for just a second as you leave your front door on the way to the car and breathe a nice deep breath of nature before your day gets underway. A small flock of sparrows watched me leave today, wouldn't have noticed them with my head down hurrying for my truck.  Spent yesterday here updating the Japanese maple list. Still need to add some descriptions, but got thru most of it. Jeez I need a bigger yard! They are such a weakness- how to resist the magical changes from spring emerging foliage thru arresting autumn colors and interesting winter exposed bark. The 'O isami' went to autumn color last year and I actually talked a neighbor in to planting one so I could enjoy it every year! You know you are an addict when......you run out of space and start working the neighbors.  Try them in pots too. When they get too big for the pot, you can plant them in your garden or gift them out in to the world and raise another sprout to give-away.  Gardeners sharing, always a deep wonderful feeling.  Enjoy the snowflakes! If winter was easy, we wouldn't recognize how awesome spring is when it gets here!

Happy Wonderful day! Erica
