Spring vegetable seed start schedule

Below is the spring seedling schedule.

INDOORS

Last week of January to 2nd week of February: Endive, Escarole

First to second week of February:Eggplant, Onions, Kale

Second to last week of February: Chamomile, Lavender, Leeks, Peppers, Rosemary, Parsley, Thyme

Last week of February to second week of March: Basil, Chives, Oregano, Tomatoes

Second week of March: Catnip, Kohlrabi, Head lettuce, Watercress

Second to last week of March: Arugula, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Cucumbers, Melons, Mustard, Tomatillo

Last week of March: Pumpkins, New Zealand Spinach, Squash (summer and winter)

OUTDOORS

Start directly in to garden!

Beans: (be patient! Cold soil=rotted seeds. Wait til the end of May-begin of June)

Beets: sow last week of March

Bok Choy: second week of March

Carrots: successive sowings last week of March thru mid summer

Cilantro: start second week of April, successive sowings every 3 weeks

Corn: last week of April

Dill: as with Cilantro

Lettuce- Mesclun blends, leaf lettuce second to last week of March

Scallions: first week of April

Parsnips: second week of March

Peas: third to last week of March

Radishes: second to third week of March

Spinach: second to third week of March

Swiss Chard: third to last week of April

Turnips: third week of March thru midsummer
